Session fun: Kerry and Matt’s garden nuptials in the windy city

I couldn’t have been more honored to have one of my oldest and dearest friend invite me to photograph her wedding. What a fun weekend it was, made all the more special because I grew up playing in the very backyard in which they wed.

Rolfe gets ready for the big event.

Silliness before the ceremony begins.

The beautiful bride in all her retro glory.

Who’s this weirdo?

All smiles. Made my heart so happy.

Let the festivities begin.

Married!

I’ll drink to that.

Garden partying.

Truly one of the most sweet and special weddings I’ve ever attended. I couldn’t be happier for you Kerry and Matt!

Lovely wedding and gorgeous photos- how long did they fertilize the grass to get it so green??? :) You couldn’t have had a more beautiful backdrop to work with and you used it wonderfully!

Thanks, Erica! Kerry’s mom took their huge backyard and filled it with native plants and wildflowers several years ago. I know this garden is her pride and joy. I think the green-ness was also helped by a very humid summer (and the fact that it had recently rained a lot!). We were lucky it didn’t storm on us, but it held out until after dinner.
